THE CITY IS NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR VOLUNTEER SERVICE ON THE WOODWAY BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS THROUGH APRIL 15TH.  PLEASE CLICK ON THE LINK BELOW UNDER APPLICATION FOR SERVICE.

To help guide our City into the future, the City Council (all of whom are volunteers serving without pay) solicits the participation of our residents to serve as volunteer board/commission members.  Rewards for services are not measured in dollars but in the satisfaction of knowing that you care enough to give back to your community.  The City Council conducts an annual call for board/commission applications early each year.

The City Council Nominating Committee meets in April to consider appointments to fill all anticipated vacancies, and then makes a recommendation to the entire City Council for action in May.  Appointments are also made during the year as vacancies occur.

There are currently four established boards and commissions, and from time to time ad hoc groups are formed to focus on a particular issue.  Additional information on each is included in the volunteer application form.

  • Board of Adjustment
  • Parks and Recreation
  • Planning and Zoning
  • Youth Commission

Youth Commission

The Youth Commission is an advisory body to the City Council on matters relating to young citizens.  Members are appointed for a one-year term.  Meetings are held on the first Thursday of each month (except June and July) at 5:30 p.m., and members are expected to assist with special events and projects which are conducted throughout the year. Members must be Woodway residents in grades 7-12.

Donate today! 100% of the funds raised by the Youth Commission are donated to the 100 Club and the Texas Police Chiefs Association to be used to support law enforcement officers and firefighters who are killed or seriously injured in the line of duty.

Application for Service

Please view the Application for Volunteer Service Form. Once completed, applications should be forwarded to the City Secretary, Donna Barkley.  As noted on the application, the City Council typically fills vacancies on all of the boards and commissions once annually; however, at times there may be a need to appoint individuals during the year.
