Assistant Director Larry Adams serves as second in command of the Woodway Public Safety Department. Adams has a Masters degree in Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University, is a graduate of the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration’s School of Police Supervision and the 270th class of the FBI National Academy, and is a veteran of the United States Navy. He is an active member of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and serves on the IACP‘s Patrol and Tactical Operations Committee.
His duties include being responsible for the development and coordination of all training for paid and volunteer personnel for the Public Safety Department. He also is responsible for conducting and coordinating the hiring process for all public safety personnel and maintaining TCOLE records and TPCA Recognition Program standards. In addition, he oversees the daily operations of the Public Safety Department and supervises paid and unpaid volunteers, the patrol captain, administrative captain, and the fire marshal.
